is on the person's relationship with other people and how an individual may be struggling with connecting and communicating.
The focus in cognitive behavioral therapy
is to help people understand the events or emotions they are experiencing, myths or underlying beliefs and change what needs to be changed and accept what can't be changed.
The focus in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy is the belief that any current dysfunctional reaction, unless organic or chemical, is always the result of a previous experience. This therapy can help if there's a belief system that says: I'm no good, I'm not lovable, I don't deserve love, I cannot trust anyone, I and cannot trust myself, I am a failure. Or many negative thoughts that have to do with the effectiveness responsibility safety and control.
